Completely Normal

Today is the first of the anniversaries. Last year at this time I'm sure I seemed like I was insane. Things were moving almost out of control. The first thing that I did that was real was that I changed my name. Today is my name birthday. I've technically been Sarah all my life in some way, but on paper it's been exactly one year. Shortly after that I started wearing women's clothes to work. I'd have to sneak out of the apartment to do so, because my roommate was not a supporter. A couple weeks later I kicked him out. The day he left was the day I decided to switch over completely. Ever since then my old clothes have been in the closet, in a box marked with a skull and crossbones. Things moved by so quickly last year that I can't even imagine my own frame of mind let alone those of my friends, family and co-workers. Thank goodness I'm surrounded by such an amazing group of people that made it so I felt able to take those steps, and who made it possible for what was so crazy last year to seem so completely normal this year.

There are too many people that were there for me last year.
I couldn't even list them all if I tried.
I hope you each know how much I appreciate you.
